Project: Salinity land Development in North East of Thailand

The Project is established under cooperation among Department of Mineral Resource, Pimai Salt Co., Ltd and National Science and Technology Development Agency to do a favor of H.M. King Bhumiphol Adulyadej?s contemplation. The geological factors and the solutions of salinity distribution have been researched and developed.

On 8 August 2008, the memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Department of Mineral Resource and Pimai Salt Co.,Ltd at Haiyong Sub-district Office, Pangkong District Sakhonnakron Province.

Hommali 105 Rice was grown on the 0.4 acre salinity land for demonstration. The ceremony was initiation through growing of salt tolerance trees on the salinity land at Nongpla reservoir, Nongnokkod village, Haiyong sub-district, Sakhonnakron Province. Several organizations including government sectors, private sectors and community leaders attended this ceremony.
