Pimai Salt Company Limited (PSC) is one of the leading producers of edible and industrial salt in Asia and operates the only pure vacuum salt plant in Southeast Asia with production facilities located in Pimai, Nakorn Ratchasima province. Pimai Salt Co.,Ltd. was established in 1994 as a joint venture between THASCO Chemical Co.,Ltd., Surisa Co.,Ltd., Vinythai Public Co.,Ltd. and Thai Refined Salt Co.,Ltd. The office of the Board of Investment (BOI) promotion and financial supports of the syndicate loans from Thanachart Bank Public Co.,Ltd., Siam Commercial Bank Public Co.,Ltd. and Bank of Ayudhya Public Co.,Ltd. have been awarded to the company expansion capacity of 500,000 tons/annum. The amount of 1,600 million bahts has been invested for the expansion.
The company uses state-of-the-art technology from Europe to mine local deposits of rock salt and produce premium-grade industrial salt. The drilling of brine wells and rock mechanical testing enables maximum salt recovery and optimum cavern stability. The pure vacuum crystallization technique so called Mechanical Vapour Recompression (MVR) ensures a superior-quality product without any adverse environmental impacts or soil contamination. To answer the growing demand for salt in the Thai market, the company has invested in additional production facilities, boosting annual capacity to 1.5 million tons.
